Health Forum

The Health Forum in Hall 1 offers a comprehensive programme for the fit horse, from feeding to hoof care. Dr. Helmut Ende takes you inside the horse's body.

9. - 15. March 2023
Exhibition Centre Essen

His breathing lungs are spectacular, his intestines sensational - Dr Helmut Ende brings the inside of the horse's body to light and invites you on a journey through the most important organs. He explains what exactly happens during colic, why horses are true fresh-air fanatics and why dust can cause severe damage to the lungs.  The veterinarian is also familiar with ligaments, tendons and joints and knows what promises quick help in case of injuries. He has been passing on his extensive knowledge very clearly since the first Equitana and also answers individual questions. The numerous specimens in his extensive collection make hidden things visible and the processes in the horse's body easier to understand.

Veterinary teaching show and expert lectures in Hall 1 are included in the fair ticket.

Expert lectures

Numerous lectures on health topics complement the veterinary training show in Hall 1. Every day, various speakers provide information on hoof care and shoeing, for example, and go into detail on feeding options and different clinical pictures.

Guided tours of the veterinary training show are offered daily at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. - the highlight is a real lung dissection!
