The Health Forum in Hall 1 offers a comprehensive programme for all interested horse lovers, from feeding to hoof care.

In the Health Forum in Hall 1, renowned experts provide information on topics such as hoof care and shoeing, feeding and equine diseases, equine dental treatment and respiratory problems. Exciting demonstrations complement the lectures: Farriery will also be demonstrated live on the horse here.

Veterinary training show

A breathing horse's lung and real intestines in a water basin - nowhere else do the organs and anatomy of the horse's body become so vivid and tangible as in Dr Helmut Ende's veterinary teaching show.

The numerous preparations and display boards bring the inside of the horse's body to light. The lectures and guided tours with Dr. Ende's students through the educational show explain what exactly happens during colic and why horses cannot tolerate dust but need lots of fresh air. The complicated structure of joints, tendons and ligaments is explained as well as first aid measures in case of injuries. Lectures by various veterinarians in the adjacent Health Forum complement the extensive wealth of knowledge that Dr. Ende and his team have been passing on to horse lovers at the fair since the first EQUITANA. There is plenty of information here to keep your horse fit and healthy for a long time!

Expert lectures and guided tours

In order to explain the various exhibits and their function in the horse's body in a comprehensible way, there are daily guided tours through the veterinary teaching show. The tours each focus on different topics. Demonstrations such as leg dissections or small lung dissections support the commented tours through the exhibition and provide insights that are otherwise reserved for veterinarians.

The eduCare stage offers space for informative talk rounds, interviews and innovations with trainers, exhibitors and guests

The new eduCare stage in Hall 1.

Here, interested visitors can expect the concentrated expertise of our exhibitors, trainers and invited guests all day long! The topics range from biomechanically correct training, the right equipment, special riding styles to innovations, professional insights and the future of equestrian sport.

On Monday, 13.03.2023 EQUITANA will be holding a job fair with the support of Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU) in the foyer in front of the Rheinland hall of the Congress Center Süd from 14.30-16.00 hrs. Are you looking for a new job, preferably related to horses? Well-known companies from the horse industry will be presenting themselves here and meeting job seekers and graduates. Find your future employer or internship company here - or perhaps a topic for your upcoming thesis? The ideal meeting place to make contacts and get information! The Job Fair is freely accessible to all fair visitors via the foyer at the South Entrance.

Veterinary Congress

Veterinary conference on the topic of equine medicine

International experts exchange information about the current state of research at the veterinary congress. They discuss new diagnostic and healing methods and find out about technical innovations. Under the direction of Dr. Stefan Wachtarz, a comprehensive advanced training programme expands the two-day main conference in the Congress Centre West.

Award for the best equine theses

Every year, the Society for the Promotion of Science around the Horse (GWP) awards promotional prizes for the best final theses written at German universities or by German students at universities abroad.

The Society for the Promotion of Science around the Horse (Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaft um das Pferd e. V.) will hold its annual awards ceremony for the best final theses on horses at EQUITANA in CC Süd on Monday, 13 March.
