An era is coming to an end: after almost three decades, Christina Uetz, Event Director of EQUITANA, is leaving the world equestrian trade fair to pursue new professional challenges. EQUITANA 2025 will be the last edition for which Uetz will be responsible as Director.
Innovation and passion for equestrian sport
Christina Uetz has shaped EQUITANA for more than 28 years and contributed significantly to the development and success of the world's leading equestrian sport trade fair. As Event Director since 1996, Uetz has worked with great dedication to turn EQUITANA into an international flagship that combines tradition and innovation in equestrian sport. She not only strengthened the event character of the trade fair, but also created numerous innovative trade fair formats such as the EQUITANA Open Air or the concept of training evenings with prominent trainers. With the HOP TOP Show, Uetz was also a pioneer of the modern show format, setting standards in the staging of the human-horse interaction. Amateur sport has also been given an ever larger stage under her direction in recent years.
‘Tina Uetz has successfully shaped and developed EQUITANA with her expertise in the industry over many years,’ says Michael Köhler, Managing Director of RX Germany, the organiser of EQUITANA. ‘Her exceptional commitment to equestrian sport will leave a strong foundation for the further development of the trade show in the coming years. We thank Tina Uetz for her outstanding work and wish her all the best for her future career,' Köhler continued.
In the future, Sarah Walter will take over the lead at EQUITANA. Since September 2023, she had already led the trade fair together with Christina Uetz in a dual leadership role and was responsible for the exhibition area as Exhibition Director. The focus of further development will be on further strengthening and internationalising the exhibition area of EQUITANA and developing new content formats relating to future equestrian sport topics.
