Isabell Werth and Julia Krajewski will share their experiences in public lessons on Tuesday, 12 April. At the Show Cup, everyone can put themselves and their horse in the limelight in front of an international audience.

 

Isabell Werth is not only highly successful in the saddle, she also passes on her wealth of experience - not only to Grand Prix riders like Lisa Müller. During the Equitana, everyone can learn from the queen of the dressage arena. On Tuesday, 12 April, she will be giving a lesson with lots of helpful tips on the correct seat, a targeted influence and training with your own horse. Selected riders will even have the chance to sit in the saddle themselves and take lessons from the Olympic champion. You can apply now via the Equitana website.

Learning from the best

Another Olympic champion will be getting horses and riders into top form on Tuesday, 12 April. Eventing rider and junior national trainer Julia Krajewski will explain the basics for a successful start in the cross-country in her lesson, presented by USG. How to succeed in lessons with ease is the focus of Uta Gräf. In her lesson on Monday, 11 April, the Grand Prix rider shows a varied training on motivated horses. She will be supported by her partner Stefan Schneider, who will demonstrate work on the long reins.

Excitement and fantasy

Excitement, spectacular manoeuvres and impressive images await the visitors at the various cups in the big ring. With their applause, they can even have a say in who leads the lap of honour at the end in the Katina Show Cup on Saturday, 9 April. Because this competition is all about imagination and originality. Imaginative costumes, a creative choreography and the tactful interplay with the music decide on success. Regardless of breed and riding style, both individual performers and groups can apply as participants via the Equitana website.

Premiere for Icelandic horses

For the first time, Icelandic horses will compete in their own competition at Equitana 2022. In tölt and racepass, they will ignite a drumfire in the five-gear on Wednesday, 13 April. On the oval track, the horses from the island of fire and ice not only take the bends at a fast pace, but especially on the straights. Spectacular manoeuvres with one and more horsepower are offered by the starters in the Driving Cup on Monday, 11 April. Monday, 11 April. As a team, they prove that Formula 1 requires neither an engine nor a mechanic. With the loud support of the audience, they turn the big Ring into a race track.

Versatility you can touch

The cross-country course of the USG indoor event on Tuesday, 12 April leads through bushes and other natural hurdles. Top riders and promising up-and-coming pairs compete against each other and against the clock. Instead of long gallops, the course requires pinpoint control and the audience is very close at every turn. Tactics and speed are in demand when the participants in the Cutting Cup on Thursday, 7 April, separate a bovine from the herd. The best in this discipline can rely not only on their riding skills but also on the instinct of their horses.

Baroque horses in top form

Baroque breeds take centre stage at the Working Equitation competitions. The Cup participants will give an insight into this still young equestrian discipline on Friday, 8 April. Galloping around barrels, through narrow alleys, over bridges and obstacles, they will demonstrate precision and the fine coordination between rider and horse. When Friesians, Andalusians, Lippizaners, Lusitanos and Knabstruppers dance through the arena, the large ring is transformed into a ballroom on Sunday, 10 April. With elaborate braided hairstyles and to the sounds of castanets or opulent rhythms, the couples perform the most difficult lessons with ease and grace in an advanced class freestyle.
