Keeping fit with Jessica von Bredow-Werndl
Being able to sit the trot and give the correct aids at exactly the right moment is only possible if you have good core strength. “We need a good strong core so that we can sit in a stable and upright position”, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl stresses. Together with a fitness trainer, she has developed a special exercise programme for riders that should give them, better physical awareness and finer control.
Exercise 1: slowly raise and lower your hip in the side plank position. Change sides after twelve to fifteen repetitions.
Exercise 2: lay on your back, bend your knees, lift your head and neck from the ground and press both hands flat against your knees. Staying in this position, stretch your right leg downwards while at the same time stretching your right arm upwards (both without touching the ground and then afterwards bring your knees and the palms of your hands together again. Change sides after twelve to fifteen repetitions.
