For over 40 years, marstall stands for healthy, appropriate and natural horse feeding. We produce a broad variety of premium horse feed for every horse and each performance level. It is the small details that make the difference. Discover it for yourself!

Back in 1974, Moritz Spring from Switzerland developed the first muesli purely for horses and launched it onto the market under the name of “marstall”. He didn’t realise that marstall would take on such dimensions, but was driven only by his clear vision of horse feed. After starting off on a small scale in the southernmost corner of Germany in our headquarters in Oberstaufen, marstall has become a growing consortium throughout Europe with three manufacturing works employing over 180 people.

Horses need to be fed according to the different breeds, different lifestyles and different circumstances in order to stay fit and healthy in the long run. marstall constantly develops and produces the right feed for every horse, in order to maintain pleasure and enjoyment with your horse day after day. We discovered early on in our research that horses fed only on forage and oats are not being provided with sufficient energy, nutrients and roughage. This knowledge led us to become the first feed producer in Europe to develop varied, natural premixed muesli’s tailored to the horse’s requirements. While hydrothermally macerated cereal flakes form the basis of most of our muesli’s, the excellent quality of our species-rich hay from the alpine upland is the resource for a broad variety of cereal-free products and hay substitutes. The innovative use of essential amino acids in some of our advanced feed lines is recognised by professionals and was honoured with the 2015 EQUITANA innovation award for our “Amino-Sport Müsli”.

We have always kept in close contact with our customers through our extensive network of qualified sales representatives and our constant presence at more than 20 regional and national trade fairs and exhibitions per year, where we reach over 800.000 horse owners and riders. Over 1500 distributors in Europe stock the range of marstall products. It is vital for us to keep in touch so that we know what the horse and rider needs.
