With many championship titles to his name and already an international show-jumping legend, Ludger Beerbaum won no less than four Olympic gold medals and numerous championship titles during his active show-jumping career. The multiple world champion and European champion is one of the most successful showjumpers ever and still enjoys an international reputation as trainer and advisor today. Now, for the very first time, Ludger Beerbaum will be presenting an exclusive coaching evening at EQUITANA in Essen.
On 12th March, 2019, he will be staging Ludger Beerbaum Live, providing insights into his philosophy and sharing his more than 30 years’ experience in competitive sport and training.
Just how does a world-class rider prepare himself for events? What are his main focuses in training? How do you bring young horses on to compete at the highest level? Together with a team of top riders from his stables, Ludger Beerbaum will be providing valuable tips from the world of top-class sport that amateur riders will also find useful for their own training at home.

At the age of 15, Ludger Beerbaum was given the opportunity to ride his first successful horse, Wetteifernde, and won everything there was to win in his age category with her. In 1981, they took 2nd place at the German Junior Championships. Ludger’s success story took off and, from 1987 onwards, he competed in all the major championships such as the German Championships, European Championships, World Championships and Olympic Games, hardly ever coming home without a medal of some sort. Other projects Ludger has been involved in include coaching at a global level, his stables in Riesenbeck, where many international competitions, seminars and other events are held. He also runs his own stallion station, and produces his own equine feed line. Hardly any other rider has had such an impact on the world of show-jumping over the last 30 years as Ludger Beerbaum.
