Company presentation
A company history
It all began in a little garage in 1967 founded by Paul Rampelmann and Karl Spliethoff. At the time the company only manufactured farming machinery. They started with one office worker and one apprentice. In 1968 they teamed up with John Deere and had 25 years of being the exclusive foreign distributor of John Deere.
Building on this success a repair workshop was developed. Specialising in motorized equipment. In 1978 began Paul Rampelmann launched the steel construction department. This included the construction of industrial and agcricultural building halls, riding halls and, multipurpose halls and special buildings.
By returning the rights of sale to John Deere in the year 1992 the direction towards steel construction began. In 1997 the first arena leveller was displaced and launched at the EQUITANA. A new business was created in their own products.
Over the years, the "motorized equipment" branch of business expanded beyond the expectations of the time. At the same time, sales activities in the agricultural machinery trade were restructured in 2002 in order to concentrate even more on mechanical engineering and municipal technology. Since 2004, new developments have made it possible to increase sales figures enormously. Due to successful presentations at trade fairs and equestrian events on the entire continent, inquiries are now coming from all over the world, so that the share in the export sector today already accounts for approx. 50 %.
With the import of Trafalgar paddock cleaners from England for 15 years, the program is supplemented. The development and market launch of the Hippodung combination mulchers has set the course for the next few years in mechanical engineering. New is the import of Hustler Zero-Turn ride-on mowers from Kansas (USA).
Training and further educations are very important for this company. Engineering consultants and technicians are always state-of-the-art through training courses and professional training programs. Now there are 120 employees and 15 trainees.
Here, too, the focus is on the future.
In 2009 Paul Rampelmann retired after 41 years in the 1st row. However, he is still in the company every day and is there to help and advise the company. In particular, he is now dedicating himself to the trainees. Around 130 young men and women have received their training at Rampelmann & Spliethoff since the company was founded. Among them several guild best, chamber and state winners. He has given his son Dirk Hartmann the responsibility he already held as head of
