Company presentation
Amerigo saddles have become a household name in the equestrian world and are enjoyed by a wide spectrum of riders from all disciplines, from top International Riders through to dedicated amature riders of all levels, who appreciate the comfort, precision fitting and the improved performances of their horses, while also caring for their health.
Top international riders such as Edwina Alexander-Tops, Daniel Deusser, Steve Guerdat, and Billy Twomey, are among those riders who have chosen Amerigo to help them achieve their high level goals. Equestrian biomechanics, and the horses’ health, as well as the riders’ needs, represent the main guidelines inspiring the design and custom manufacture of all Amerigo saddles, and have led to them establishing themselves during the last 12 years in all top level sports from Showjumping through to Icelandic.
Behind the Amerigo saddle concept, is the scientific approach of the talented and experienced Peter Menet who has created a professional Saddle Management System with the purpose of not only improving performance but helping to keep the horse healthier too. A competitive rider all his life, and a passionate breeder of sporthorses, he has been dedicating his working life to the analysis of the horse and rider biomechanics, measuring them for new saddles, checking the fit of their existing ones and advising all level of riders. His extensive know-how on how saddles can influence the horses’ performance is highly respected, and his seminars on the subject often form parts of further education for Vets, Physiotherapists and Osteopaths worldwide.
Amerigo provides a complete range of top class saddles for all disciplines, that can be customised to fit very precisely to both horse and rider by using our special measurement system. They combine functionality and precision as well as the highest quality materials and meticulous workmanship. Top quality naturally tanned Italian and French leathers, from certified tanneries, are handpicked and inspected before they are allowed to be used. The saddlemaking process begins with the preparation of the saddle tree which is the heart of any saddle and requires precise and exacting skills to achieve the correct shapes. Each part of the saddle is individually made to order by specially trained craftsmen and women using traditional methods with a modern touch.
Research and Development is an important part of Amerigo brand and product strategy, not only to maintain the very high quality standards, but also improve wherever possible and to fulfill the requirements of a ever changing market, producing saddles models that are specifically designed for the many different types of horses that we see today, aswell as a high level range of innovative performance accessories.
