As in previous years, a lot of attention is focussed on the topic of horses' hooves at the EQUITANA 2011.
It is only possible to work with horses if they have healthy hooves. The results can be disastrous if a horse has not been shoed correctly or if the hooves have suffered from incorrect or excessive hoof care.
The main focus of the Hufdorf - the village at the EQUITANA devoted to anything to do with hooves - is hoof expertise. Demonstrations on how to make a horseshoe and shoe a horse will be carried out daily on the anvil at the forge set up in the educational smithy.
Naturally, alternative methods of shoeing using plastic, for example, will also be demonstrated in the Hufdorf. There will also be an information stand where you can pick the professionals' brains. Whether you are interested in hoof care, shoeing or orthopaedic problems, there will be active members of staff available to advise you every day of the exhibition.
