Akasaka is known as the best Japanese restaurant in Essen. It is family owned and the food is prepared freshly by Mr. Kawakami, a sushi-master. Like most of the Japanese Restaurants Akasaka is quite expensive, but the quality of food is very high.

Banker's Inn
Especially famous for Business Lunch amongst the employees of the neighbouring Nationalbank the Banker's Inn presents itself in a very British style. However, next to the daily changing lunch menu (Monday to Friday) you can have an outstanding dinner there as well. Next to typical regional dishes the owners offer fancy foods like lobster-foam-soup with blue-white fish. Mongo's
Mongolian Cuisine is not that famous is Germany. Eating out at Mongo'S once is, however, a special experience. After ordering drinks, the guest recieves a bowl to fill at the buffet himself. There he can chose between all different things. The buffet starts with vegetables and salad, follwed by nuts and noodles until meat and fish. These different ingredients are raw and some of them even extraordinary, like, for example, kangaroo or gnu. Then the guest gives the bowl to the cook who roasts it with a marinade chosen before.
It is cashed up over the times how often the guest fills up the bowl. Who just goes to the buffet once, pays € 12,90 and who goes more often, pays a total of € 19,90.
It is really comfortable that tables can be booked over the internet.

Many bars and pubs are to be found on Essen's No.1 partying mile Rüttenscheider Straße, to be reached from Essen fairgrounds on foot in just five minutes. Busses 142, 160 and 161 as well as the night express busses NE8, NE13 and NE14, trams 101 and 107 and the underground U11 stop only 50 metres away at the Martinstraße stop.

Zeche Zollverein
Zeche Zollverein in the north of Essen with its Pit XII, the former coking plant and Pits 1/2/8 is one of Europe's most important industrial monuments. It's Essen's nightclub par excellence. Delta Musik Park offers several dance floors and areas in the old Krupp factory halls.
